DeleteThat makes sense. Xander is having an internal struggle, and he's lashing out externally to relieve pressure. First he wants so badly to kill Philip, but deep down, he can't finish the job. He blames his desire to kill Philip on Victor, since Victor abused Xander's loyalty to him. Xander only wanted Victor's approval and would do anything Victor asked of him, even kill. Now Xander is realizing how screwed up he is because of Victor's greed and he's lashing out on Victor's portrait. Xander was so unloved before, when he just wanted Victor's love, but now that he's felt real love from Sarah and Maggie and even others who joined in to celebrate their love.... Now Xander is being rejected FOR the very things he use to do to be loved (by Victor). It's very confusing for him. But deep down he knew if he had killed Philip, he would lose them completely, but there's still a chance Philip could die, and everything is hanging in the balance.... And if Philip does wake up, he could talk, but everyone knows Xander is the one who almost killed Philip anyways. And everyone is defending Philip, and no one for Xander, which Xander's whole life, Victor freely loved Philip and not Xander. How confusing this must be to Xander that now, after Victor's death, Victor rewards him by giving him all the wealth and power that had corrupted Victor. It is a curse if you ask me.
