ReplyDeleteFirst of all, Holly takes after her Grandma Maggie. Neither one of them should ever drink (or do drugs) cause they suffer from alcholism and lose control (just like Brady, Eric, Lucas, Jennifer, Teresa, Carly). It's so sad when they drink how they lose control, and bad things happen. Holly almost died the 1st time, was in a coma for months, now she again hurts herself.
ReplyDeleteNow Nicole can down her liquor and keep in complete control. She drank a lot, but she started young, when her Dad use to drug her to sell her in prostitution, but as an adult, Nicole was impressive how she'd drink everyone else under the table, and in complete control. But it's not surprising Holly has this problem (and she didn't even drink much). Daniel was so clean. And I remember when he brought Teresa back to life when she ODed. Nobody loved Nicole the way Daniel did (and now they are married in real life). Their love story was pure magic. So the idea that he was killed by Drunk Eric in a wreck.... This is so close to home, this and how extreme Maggie's alcoholism is also, so it doesn't surprise me that Holly is having these problems, falling off the wagon. When Johnny was speaking to her on the phone, and he recognized the signs and made sure she was safe, in her dorm, and urging her not to drink anymore... I could see Johnny was having the flashbacks of sitting by her bedside when she ODed and slipped into a coma and was expected to die. I give him credit for showing her that she still cares like he's still her brother. I'm so glad they added this part.
One more thing, when I seen Brady carrying Holly out, I was in tears. Not sure if anyone else was thinking about Daniel's heart beating in Brady's chest, as he was in the car with Daniel when Drunk Eric crashed into them, and Brady almost died also, but because Daniel was brain dead, they gave Brady his heart. This was shortly before Chloe realized she was carrying Daniel and Nicole's baby (as she offered to be surrogate due to Nicole's inability to carry). But this scene, of Brady carrying drunk Holly was so touching on so many levels. Brady also struggles with alcoholism and complete loss of control, but getting Daniel's heart I think is what helped him more than anything else.... but here we are a whole generation later, and I believe Daniel's heart guided Brady to Holly. I use to think Nicole and Brady would wind up together because of Daniel's heart being in his chest, and for a while this was true (when Nicole couldn't forgive Eric for killing Daniel), but another think I like about Nicole is how hard it was for her to forgive, but when she did, she really did. Daniel also use to visit her, helping her to do the right thing. I'm giving Days 100% on today's episode. Most probably don't see how all these things are connected, but it's a very powerful message. Brady has a unique connection with Holly, similar to how Sarah has a unique connection to Rachel and how Kristen has a unique connection to EJ.
ReplyDelete**(Who remembers how Kristen dressed up Susan to look like Kristen, so John would still think Kristen was pregnant, and then Susan was going to give her baby (EJ) to Kristen and leave town. Kristen had named the baby John Jr. at that time (this was in the late 90's). Problem was that Susan fell in love with John also. She was still dressed up as Kristen and seduced John. Kristen had locked up Marlena to keep her away from John, and Susan at first wanted to free Marlena, but then agreed she couldn't be released cause Susan wanted John for herself. In the end, Susan ended up locking up Kristen with Marlena, and while she was dressed up like Kristen, she was the one who married John in an Elvis themed wedding... which Marlena and Kristen were watching on a television in their prison, and Marlena was laughing so hard cause Kristen was losing her mind. It's pretty funny actually. But Kristen and John were EJ's first parents... then when Susan came back due to bonding with the John and the baby, Kristen acted fast when John walks in and says that Susan was the new nanny... and it just got worse from there. Funny times.
