Kinda surprised that Julie said that Ari was her cousin? Let's break that down:

So, Julie's Uncle is Bill, and 1st cousin of Lucas.... Making Julie and Lucas the 1st generation grandchildren of Tom and Alice.
Then Lucas is Will's dad, and Will is Ari's dad ... making Will her 2nd cousin and Ari her 3rd cousin.
Though when Julie first said that, I originally thought of Nick Fallon, who's mom was Jessica Blake, and Grandma is Marie (Marie is sister of Addie and Bill ... and Julie's aunt). Making Jessica her 1st cousin and Nick her 2nd cousin, and again, Ari her 3rd cousin.
Back when Gabi got pregnant, she dated Will .. who's storyline was that he was gay. When Gabi's sister Arianna got evidence that Sami shot EJ (on camera), Will tried to stop her as she was going to the police, cause her to runn into traffic and was hit by a car and killed. So Gabi and Will had sex, and Gabi pregnant. When she 1st realized it, her and Will made plans to get abortion, but Nick and Gabi had a whirlwind romance, and Nick wanted her to keep the baby and Nick would marry her and be the father. Will didn't seem to know what he wanted, but said he would support Gabi in whatever she wanted. This was when it came out that Will was Gay and in love with Sonny. And Gabi married Nick, and there was controversy about Will's role in Ari's life (especially when Sami had found out). This turned into arguments about what was best for Ari, and when Gabi thought she accidently killed Nick, Sami and Kate helped her throw his body in the river so no one would ever know. But Nick survived somehow and came back in vengence, stalking them, and right when Nick's anger was gone and he had just told Julie in the Park of the amends he would make, Gabi hid in the trees and shot him. But when Will was arrested, Gabi confessed and spend most of Ari's childhood in prison. And this is the main reason Julie hates Gabi. But she's still Ari's cousin, both biologically and through marriage.
But she also said she gives 2nd chances.
